Fuji Ramen - Fresh Noodles in Tonkotsu Soup

Handmade noodles and thick tonkotsu soup

Fuji Ramen in Asakusa serves tasty ramen in tsukemen with tonkotsu base soup and noodles made fresh at the shop.

This shop is special because it makes its own noodles. You can see the small workshop near the entrance. The noodles are straight, medium thick and very good both as ramen or tsukemen.

When you order the tsukemen, you can choose a normal, medium, or big portion of noodles. After you finish all noodles, hand your bowl to the staff for soup-wari, extra broth added to the dipping soup. Then finish your meal with the hot soup. Ramen here is also very good and you can eat a lot for 1000 yen.

Come in and you will see that the focus here is on the food. From all the counter seats you can watch your noodles being prepared in the kitchen.

To order, put money into the ticket vending machine at the entrance and select what you want. If you cannot read Japanese, the friendly staff here will help you. Please note that if you are vegetarian, everything here is prepared with tonkotsu broth made from pork.

Fuji Ramen is now one of my favourite ramen shops in Asakusa. I have added it to my list of best finds here http://www.deepjapan.org/a/3986
