During the brief season, many of the beaches have beach houses, where there are lockers, showers, bars, and great festival food.

Chigasaki Beach for your Japan Travel
I had an opportunity to visit the Chigasaki city taking JR Tokaido line from Shinagawa station in the recent past and brought back such a wonderful memory of how beautiful the place is. It is located on the coast (Sagami bay) not too far from Enoshima Island near Kamakura and it is a dream land for those who surf the waves.

Island Paradise Near Tokyo, Japan
If you are interested in taking a boat ride from Tokyo, I recommend going to Niijima island, one of the Izu islands. Niijima is only 2 hours on a hydrofoil from Takeshiba boat terminal in Hamamatsucho and is very easy to get to. Tickets can be purchased online, at convenience stores, or at the terminal.

Kamakura Daibutsu and the Beach
For a great day trip on the weekend, visiting Kamakura is a great place to visit. The Daibutsu (Great Buddha) in Kamakura is one of the most famous and well known Buddha statues in all of Japan. In fact, you can actually go inside of the statue and see what it looks like from the inside. In the summertime though, it is hot, but it is interesting to see from the inside.
