Also, Japanese people tend to be honest and caring for other people – they deliver lost items to the police box, especially if the item looks expensive or is a wallet. Therefore, if you lose anything important, a good place to look after you have searched everywhere is the police station. Although you may have to fill out forms, it is a good idea to tell the policemen the information so that they can contact you if someone delivers the lost item.
