Let off steam with a song
Many Japanese workers will go out with their colleagues after work to let off steam and stress; If you feel up to it that is. After some drinks and food, the common ritual is to go to a karaoke place to sing your heart out. For many, this is a way to break the ice with their colleagues, as there is no shame when up singing in front of a group. This can be a very refreshing activity, and the mutual demonstration of singing skills tends to strengthen the bond between you and your co-workers. Doing this on a regular basis ultimately carries over into the work day, because you will have a better relationship with your co-workers, and possibly even look forward to going to work in the morning. Maintaining a healthy balance of letting off steam, and relaxing with co-workers is a a great way to foster a healthy work cycle, and lessen the stress of the day-to-day.
