Discovering Yokohama by Bike
Yokohama Bike Rides
I make no secret about my love and pride for Yokohama. It is beautiful and unique on numerous levels; the city and its people are in a category unto themselves. With a plethora of things to do for every kind of person – from the old-school neighborhoods of Noge and Yoshidamachi to the state-of-the-art areas of Minatomirai – it’s simply impossible to discover all that Yokohama has to offer without multiple visits.
One of the most interesting and less-known-about ways of exploring Yokohama is by bicycle. Yokohama resident, James Szypula, operates “Yokohama Rides and Rentals” – cycling excursions around Yokohama and Kamakura. He offers customized itineraries and compact Folding bicycles available for rent.
In his own words:
“The best way to explore a city is on a bike! It’s more fun than public transportation and cheaper than renting a car. On a bicycle you aren’t simply going from point A to point B as quickly as possible, but taking in everything in between at your own pace. By bike the journey itself becomes the destination.”
If you are visiting Yokohama and would like to take a tour or rent one of his small, stylish, and fun-to-ride folding bicycles, please contact him for more information or to make a reservation:
He can deliver to your hotel; meet you at the train station or just about anywhere in Yokohama!
