Cat Café Nekorobi
With such rich diversity residing within Tokyo, this makes the city a true melting pot of ideas, culture, and concepts. One of the most novel and cutest café concepts that I have seen here is called the Cat Café Nekorobi which is located in Ikebukuro Tokyo. This is not just a place decked out in cat couture, but it is actually a lounge peppered with cats!
The Cat Café Nekorobi is a place where you can relax, use WiFi, play the house Wii , charge your device, sit on the plush chairs and relax, all while their pack of adorable cats and kittens interact and play with you. There are toys there for you to play with the cats, or you can bring your own which you just get approval when you enter. If a cat or kitten happens to wound you, first aid is there ready for you provided by the staff, although, it is an ‘enter at your own risk’ type of place. There are lockers free for you to use, and one of the best things is that you can print cat photos that you took while inside free of charge.
This is one of those beautifully unique types of place that you will find here in Japan. The owners saw a need and filled the demand. For those who are not able to have a cat at the moment for one reason or another, you can get your cat and kitten fix in, and leave feeling happier and relaxed, ready to take on the rest of your day. *Pro-Tip* You may want to remember to bring a Claritin or your allergy suppressant just in case to this place.
The rate is 1,100 -1,300 yen an hour depending on the day, weekend or holiday, that you might go in. After the initial charge, the fee drops to 250-300 yen an hour. They are usually open from 11am-10pm, but be sure to check the hours before you go in as they may change. http://www.nekorobi.jp/
