Cupnoodles Museum

If you are like me and you have an affinity for one of the best inventions ever bestowed upon mankind, yes, I’m talking about instant noodles, you will love hearing about this must-see, one of a kind museum! The Cupnoodles Museum in Yokohama is a tribute to this delicious meal, as well as to its founder Momofuku Ando. Just a twelve minute walk from the JR/Shieichikatetsu Sakuragicho Station, the museum is adjacent to the Yokohama Cosmo World. (http://www.cupnoodles-museum.jp/)

If you reserve a spot before coming, you can actually make your own noodles, then package them and take them home with you. If you do not do this, you will still have a truly unique and educational experience. You will explore and learn about Mr. Momofuku, and with interactive exhibits, you will learn about the history of how Cupnoodles were born!

No reservations needed, you can purchase an empty Styrofoam cup that you decorate, and then bring into an assembly line like at a subway. You get your noodles inserted, you pick the flavor powder desired, and then you get to pick four toppings to include inside. Then your noodles are packaged, heat sealed, and are ready to eat with the help of a little hot water!

For the nominal fee of five hundred yen, you can enter this museum for a great light hearted day out with the family or with a date. After going through all the exhibits, there is a ‘noodle bazaar’ where you can eat noodles fashioned in flavors from around the world like from Italy, China, Philippines, and of course Japan. When you are finished visiting the museum you will be located in an area where there is a plethora of activities including rides, restaurants, and a huge shopping mall. This is defiantly a place worth checking out and exploring for yourself, as you defiantly will not be disappointed.
