iL PRiMARiO / Kita-Aoyama

iL PRiMARiO in the Aoyama Kinokuniya basement is one of the best meeting places. It is within 20-minute walk distance from JR Shibuya Station. The nearest station is Subway Omotesando (1 minute from Exit B2)

Aoyama Kinokuniya is the famous ultrahigh grade international supermarket and a stylish Italian bar, "iL PRiMARiO" is located on the first basement floor. I used to think it is a little cafe run by Kinokuniya, but it is actually an individual restaurant operating under contract with Kinokuniya.

One of my recommendations is to have their hot orange first thing in the morning and start a lovely day. They offer a great cappucino (600yen), nice selection of wine and beer and a variety of light meals such as panini and green salad.

I can think of many nice things you can do at Kinokuniya while you wait for someone. You can walk around the supermarket and enjoy attractive shelves containing a wide range of luxury foods from all over the world. If you are lucky enough, you can bump into some showfolk too. Rich people always dress up nicely even at the supermarket and it's fun to watch such rich people. The supermarket sometimes give away free sampling foods and they let you taste, for example, a piece of different cheese with detailed explanations by a young pretty girl staff. If you are to prepare some gift for your friend or someone you are waiting to meet, they are willing to wrap it beautifully even if it's one piece of chocolate. They offer the best possible service. That's Aoyama Kinokuniya grade all over.

iL PRiMARiO is the bar restaurant for such kind of sophisticated customers and their service is also one of the best. You can enjoy casual chatting while you are waiting for someone or have a brief meeting inside the restaurant too. Harajyuku is not that close from Aoyama kinokuniya (apparently further compared to Shibuya), but it is a great walk to enjoy rows of fabulous brand shops here and there.

iL PRiMARiO consist of a counter and tables. A free parking space is available at the Kinokuniya.
