Tempura
My favourite Japanese fried food is called "Tempura" and it is a dish of seafood or vegetables that have been battered and deep fried in around 180 degrees (Celsius) oil. When you see the chef preparing the meal, it looks very easy but it is an art and to make this meal is not so simple. When it comes out of the oil, it should be nice and hot and most importantly crisp. Apparently, I have not mastered the technique to make it crisp yet. The reason I like this dish is the choice of things that I can make and eat are endless for any vegetables, any seafood or even a meat can be fried and eaten based on your likes/ dislikes. If you have not eaten one of these dishes, I recommend you start with some of the most common ones, such as shrimp, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, green peppers, Onions, and even a squid. Tempura restaurants are common so it will be easy to locate near where you are visiting. Enjoy!!!
