Make a Break for Coffee

Café Elliott Avenue

The cold and wet of these last few weeks has certainly put me in the mood for coffee. And I can think of no better place for a better cup of it than Café Elliott Avenue in Yokohama.

Café Elliott Avenue has been a local favourite for years, run by Seattle-trained baristas Junko and Kengo, who make some of the most delightful latte art I've ever seen.

Located on the ground floor of the Yokohama Doll Museum near Yamashita Park, I often visit to enjoy a delicious cafe latte or cappuccino while getting paperwork done, or just staring out their large glass windows watching the world pass by.

What's brilliant about Café Elliott Avenue is that not only do they serve a wide-variety of hot and cold coffee (and tea) drinks, they also have one of the best lunch deals in town: for only ¥1000 you can choose between a bagel sandwich or taco rice. Both are served with sides of mashed potatoes and chips. But wait, you also get a coffee or latte with your order, so you're basically paying ¥500 for the whole deal.

Definitely stop by and get your coffee on, tell them Lee sent you.
