Yokohama Fireworks Show: Sparkling Twilight 2014

Summer means many things in Japan; the brightest and the loudest undoubtedly being: fireworks!

In Yokohama, the Yokohama Sparkling Twilight fireworks show has become a must-see summer tradition. The event is held over two days at Yamashita Park.

You can enjoy both music and fireworks, as well as a number of other special activities, including the Sparkling Parade, a parade of mikoshi portable shrines from every district in Yokohama (including Yokohama’s Chinatown district). There is also a “Seaside Restaurant,” featuring food from some of Yokohama’s oldest and best-known restaurants in the park.

This nighttime spectacle is absolutely free, so why throw on a yukata and join?

Dates: July 19 (Saturday) to July 20 (Sunday), 2014
Venue: Yamashita Park and surrounding areas
