Tissue Paper Advertising in Japan
Clever way to get the word out!
I am sure that you have seen the people around the train stations and other locations throughout many cities passing out small packs of tissue papers to nearby travelers.
When offered, I usually take one from them for I feel bad since most people ignore them and will not take one. Especially during increment weather. So, just to help them out, I started to take it and kept them in my apartment or in my office.
By the time I realized, my inventory level has gone up to well over 100 packs until the spring time when flower pollens were everywhere in the air. My supply of 100+ packs went down rather quickly trying to combat my allergic reaction to the pollen. When I took a closer look at the packets, I started to notice advertisements on them and realized how clever these companies are to use such advertisement means.
Tissue is something very useful to the general public and inexpensive tool, which companies can use to spread the corporate messages out quickly.
Some of the collections I have are from Banking institutions, real estate firms, pachinko establishments, eye glass stores, travel agencies and some night entertainment facilities and many more.
So, when you are traveling Japan and happen by one of these people next time, take one and see who is advertising. It may be some stores or services that you are looking for. They even have some discount coupons on some of them. It’s free, handy and useful. Take one and start your own collection like me.
